Testing
Testing is important simply because it defines to what extent a building component can be stressed by various means until it fails. This does not mean that the product failed, but rather that the parameters have been defined to be within certain tolerances, and then safety margins are computed into the parameters, thereby ensuring that the product will not fall short of its intended application.
Testing was carried out by:
Depending upon the application,
testing gives you the answers...
Whoever thought that timber structures would stand the test of time, as they have?
We've gone one major step further...
All testing and reports were issued by BRE and TRADA and Certified by LABC, giving allowable design parameters for structure build of three and a half storeys, or four storeys ensuring the attic is a room in the roof, without the use of a structural engineer. In-house, we always use one anyway, as a structural engineer's experience is invaluable in regards to creative design.
Taller structures are easily achievable by having a structural engineer use the design parameters to figure out loads and sign off the plans.
Our panels are easily incorporated into other systems as infill panels as well as load bearing panels. As our panels are so lightweight while incredibly strong, one use we are seeing more of is the erection of further stories on top of existing structures. For further information re design specification, please view the information on the Design Values tab above.
Strength and stiffness while highly insulative and cost effective is our claim to fame. Seven years of testing has given us the confidence to tackle just about any design up to and including six stories as a load-bearing system, or any height as infill panels. From Disproportionate Progressive Collapse to sites with hardly any access, industry experts have kindly assisted in advising on solutions to just about any type of a problem with a design, or solutions required on site. In return, we advise freely on solutions to other people's designs, backed up with either testing or formulaic results.
